One of the reasons why dentures are so popular is that the price is much lower than any other option out there. But just because the price is lower, does not make it the better option.
Here are some of the disadvantages of dentures:
Time – Unlike the other options out there, dentures take a while to get to you. This can be rather frustrating when you don’t have teeth or are missing a substantial amount.
Pain – Even though it doesn’t happen to everyone, some say that when they first are wearing dentures they get pains and sores in their mouth until they get used to them.
The care – Even though you have to care for your teeth no matter the form – dentures care is a much more tedious process. Forgetting to care for them properly can cause them to break down and be zero use to you.
Here are some of the advantages of dental implants:
Time saver – Unlike dentures, dental implants are surgically put into your mouth. This means after your initial appointment – your next appointment will be the day you walk out with beautiful brand new teeth!
Minimal discomfort – The only “pain” you may feel will be the day of the surgery, which is to be expected. But the plus side to this is there is no need to get used to the dental implants because they are taking place of real teeth. Beyond that first day, there is zero pain!
They’re your teeth – They aren’t removed every night, they aren’t in need of special care. They just need to be cared for as you would your own teeth!
