Dental Veneers are a great way to for an individual to have a nicer smile if their teeth have become stained, chipped, or are missing. It is important to note however that with dental veneers, Trinity residents should be aware that veneers are an irreversible procedure which makes getting them a big decision to make. Many people know that dental veneers are used to simulate real teeth, but a lot of individuals do not know what they are made of, how the procedure is performed, or even how to care for their veneers once they have been placed. Before a patient commits to a dental procedure, they should have knowledge as to what the procedure entails.
The Veneer Placing Process
Most dental veneers can be made and applied within one or two appointments. Depending on what material the veneers are made of and how much time you have in your day, a dentist office can have a patient taken care of fast. With dental veneers, Trinity patients would have to have implants of their teeth taken in order to make correctly sized veneers fit in a patient’s mouth. After the veneers are made in a laboratory, the dentist must prep your tooth to be fitted with your unique veneers.
What About Caring for your Veneers
Veneers are not only great because they look like real teeth, but they are also needed to be cared for like real teeth. Brushing and flossing regularly is still important for dental veneers, but it is important not to use abrasive fluoride toothpaste because they can scratch and weaken porcelain veneers. Trinity patients should also be aware that regardless of how well you take care of your veneers there is a strong chance that at some point you will have to have your veneers replaced.
