Having a tooth pulled is something that no one looks forward to in order to have it done. Even though there are many reasons someone would need a tooth extraction, Lake Lindsey residents are more likely than not going to be told that they need to have a tooth removed because it is already damaged or starting to decay. But what are some of these other reasons that individuals get their teeth extracted? Another popular reason that someone get their teeth extracted is if they have wisdom teeth that have become impacted, but this is usually something that is handled while you are young.

Orthodontic Work

Although it is not common in most orthodontic procedures, there are some instances where a tooth extraction is needed to become apart of an orthodontic treatment. With orthodontic tooth extraction, Lake Lindsey residents who have braces may need to remove a tooth in order to compensate for overcrowding. This is in specific cases where the teeth are much larger than the space they are given because of the size of their mouth. Normally when teeth need to be extracted for an orthodontic procedure, it is often more than one tooth in order to keep someone’s smile symmetrical.

Child Development

Tooth extraction is not something that is common in children and young adults but it can be a necessity sometimes. Some scenarios have been suggested that a young adult could still have their baby teeth even though they should have lost them years ago. With child tooth extraction, Lake Lindsey residents are usually recommended this to ensure that their permanent or adult teeth come in at the correct location. Tooth exaction is not something that is thought of as a quick fix, and often times, a dentist will try to find a solution for their patients before they go ahead and commit to removing the tooth.
