Getting braces put on is one of the most common procedures that people may have to ask themselves if it is right for them. Braces are great for most ages except for very young children, but often times patients of all ages do not really understand what the braes are doing. When it comes to braces, Isthachatta residents might have a general idea of why they need braces, but there are many aspects that braces do that they are not aware of. Most people already know that braces are meant for people who do not have the straightest teeth and would like a more confident smile.
Crooked Teeth
It is no understatement that the majority of children will need some sort of crooked teeth correction, either by retainers, headgear, or braces. Isthachatta residents probably know that braces are the most common of these options, and on average, these procedures can last a patient about two years give or take.
Too Much Spacing In Between Teeth
Another common problem that dentists see as an issue to be corrected by braces is when their patients have gaps in their teeth. Commonly called Diastema by dental professionals, gaps in between teeth not only look bad from the perspective of other people, but they can also cause other medical complications.
Overbite and Under bite Corrections
Along with crooked teeth being commonly corrected with braces, Isthachatta residents may be recommended braces if they have a significant overbite or under bite. Most people do not know the importance of correcting this issue, such as they did not know that they can have gum damage if the overbite or under bite is severe enough. Additionally, this misalignment may make it hard for an individual to speak properly or chew properly. Another common side effect of a bad bite would be additional tooth damage as well as wear and tear.
