Getting your wisdom teeth removed can be a big part of most people’s lives. Wisdom teeth are no longer needed for humans to properly chew their food, but most of us have them because it is a part of our genetics. When it comes to wisdom tooth extraction, Hudson residents may need to have their wisdom teeth removed because there is not enough space to adequately fit them in your mouth, and it causes a lot of pain and discomfort. Some people are lucky enough to never have to deal with the pain of wisdom teeth, but for most of us, there is a good chance we are going to have them removed at some point.

Not Everyone Has Wisdom Teeth

Because a person’s chances of getting wisdom teeth is based on genetics, not everyone has the same genetics. Some people are born naturally without any wisdom teeth at all, which means they will not have to deal with the space issues or the pain of having their wisdom teeth come in. When it comes to the time when someone should have to think about getting a wisdom tooth extraction, Hudson residents should know that an x-ray is all that is needed in order to tell if someone has wisdom teeth or not, and whether they will have to be removed.

Some People Only Have One Set of Wisdom Teeth

Under normal circumstances, someone who carries the gene for wisdom teeth will have to have four wisdom teeth removed in total, two on the top of the mouth and two at the bottom. Yet when it comes to wisdom tooth extraction, Hudson residents might learn that they only have two teeth that need to be extracted. Just like someone can have a modified wisdom tooth gene so that they have no wisdom teeth at all, someone can also have a genetic modification to have two wisdom teeth instead of the normal four that we are supposed to have.
