Many of us at some point in our lives may have to make the choice of getting dentures as a permanent solution. What can be confusing for some people is the simple fact that there are more than one type of dentures to choose from. Not everyone is going to have every tooth removed to get new dentures. Brookridge residents should talk with their dental p[professional about all the options that are available to them, as there may be a less invasive solution to having dental issues being corrected by dentures in the traditional sense. Here are some of the more common options that a patient may get instead of traditional dentures.

Fixed Partial Dentures

It is much more common that a patient will only need to have a portion of their mouth be fitted with new dentures, instead of having all the areas of their mouths fitted for new dentures. Brookridge residents should know that fixed partial dentures, or bridges as they are more commonly known by, are a very popular surface for people who only have problems with one or a few teeth. Partial dentures have the advantage of not being noticeable to other people as easily as traditional dentures. This has a lot to do with the fact that fixed partial dentures are usually most suitable for molar replacements than front teeth.

Removable Partial Dentures

While dental bridges are meant to be a fixed option for dentures, Brookridge residents should also know that there are partial dentures that are designed to be removable as well. Removable partial dentures are strong and durable as any other type of denture, as they are built on a metal frame for strength. There are too many types of removable partial dentures out there, one known as cast partial dentures, the other is acrylic partial dentures. These options are dependent on which teeth are in question of being replaced, and also how much money a patient is able to use towards their dentures.
