Having false teeth in your mouth is quite common for people who have broken, missing, or decaying teeth. It is not always easy to talk and chew food with missing teeth, and the problem only because more of an issue the more teeth are missing.

Luckily, instead of having to go without one or more teeth in your mouth, patients have the option to go to the dentist and get false teeth. Hudson’s residents should know that false teeth come in many different forms and configurations, and getting false teeth does not always imply that someone needs a full set of dentures.

Getting false teeth is not the perfect solution that some people make it out to be. Patients need to adjust to different aspects of getting false teeth, and today, we will be going over some of the problems with false teeth that people have to get used to.

You Cannot Feel False Teeth When Chewing

One of the biggest changes that someone with one or more false teeth will notice is that they cannot feel their false teeth when eating food or drinking. This is not something that people can prepare for, as there really isn’t any other feeling like this.

When it comes to chewing with false teeth, Hudson residents should know that they will feel some of the pressure from chewing, but they can’t really feel the food itself. This is not so bad when someone only has one or two false teeth, such as with a dental bridge. But with dentures, it can be extremely hard to get used to.

In some ways, that is a good thing. For example, have you ever drank something cold and hurt your teeth? This is not something that is a common issue when someone has false teeth in their mouth.

False Teeth Need to Be Taken Care of

Another aspect of false teeth that some individuals need to be made aware of is the fact that you need to clean and care for false teeth as though they were the real thing. Many people think that because they are not natural teeth, they do not need to be cared for because plaque and decay does not affect them.

Even if that statement is true, false teeth can still get stained, as well as start and taste differently. Plaque is something that can build up on false teeth. Hudson’s residents should know that they should brush their teeth twice a day as if they were the real thing to prevent this.

Most people will choose to remove their false teeth and put them in a cleaning solution for an extended period of time. This will help remove plaque, stains, and smells that may have built up overtime and have made false teeth less comfortable.
